Please be aware that these are only general guidelines for players who wish to avoid making an application to join the dream. These limitations were set to avoid complete abuse of character-creation in an unrealistic dream. If you have a character which is not listed below, or does not meet the requirements, that does not mean you’re being refused the right to roleplay in The Woodlands. Just simply fill out a character application found HERE to be reviewed by staff. Otters, rabbits, bats, and other prey-like animals tend to not be abused, so they will generally be accepted without an application. However, just please use your brain. If you think your character is a bit outrageous, just go ahead and run it by a staff member. And please don’t hesitate to report a crazy character you’ve seen IC that has not applied/been accepted. :)
Wolves/Jackals/Dogs
-Requirements: with non-application characters, players are to be no larger than 3.5 feet (42 inches) to the shoulder, and must not weight more than 245 lbs. Extinct species are also allowed to be used within the dream’s boundaries.
Sabers
-Requirements: with non-application characters, players are to be no larger than 4.5 feet (54 inches) to the shoulder, and must not weight more than 700 lbs. The feline’s sabers must be no longer than 8 inches in length.
Horses
-Requirements: to put it simply, horse characters are rarely oversized or abused. They do not require an application unless your horse is extremely non-realistic. Having weird colors, wings, cloved hooves, or strange patterns does not require an application.
Gryphons
-Requirements: gryphons are application-only characters.
Hybrids
-Requirements: hybrids are a tricky topic, and are therefore are only allowed within the confines of the dream on an application-only basis. We are perfectly fine with compound species, but we would prefer if you kept the hybrids semi-realistic, such as a hyena-dog or a zebra-horse (zorse). If you have a hybrid character with a more complex mixture, there is a possibility that we may reject you if it is a bit too crazy.. but please don’t be discouraged from filling out an application anyway. :)
Accessories/Color Mutations
-Players are welcome to have collars, earrings, necklaces, wings, hair, extra tails, scales, discolored fur/skin, masks, etc,. HOWEVER, with additions such as spikes, claws, and horns, we would prefer if you would fill out an application to have it checked out by staff before engaging in roleplay. We do not prejudice against bizarre creatures, but we do not, under any circumstances, want over-built warmachines patrolling the dream. Yes, we realize fighting is a common practice in feral roleplay, but what we do not want is characters within the dream whose main purpose is to simply seek and destroy other characters for shits and giggles (ie,. thrillkilling). This is a banishable offense, so your best bet is having your character’s design checked out with staff before entering the In-Character area.
